Another great North American land boom is now underway in earnest across the continent thanks to the new possibilities and profits enabled by ground-mounted solar energy development. But this land rush will be different in fundamental and functionally distinct ways, to which this non-rooftop solar development forum is dedicated.
Scaling into a significant land use, essential work is underway to understand solar's impacts on soils, surface water, groundwater and habitat function. Early studies and pilot projects across the planet are opening the door to the potential for higher & better sun farming, towards dual-use agricultural production, double-cropping, or solar simul-cropping.
Beyond the solar power production & economic development, beyond the renewable megawatts & marginal revenues, a new model of environmental stewardship is combining solar development, land conservation and best agricultural practice to harness the land's true, multifunctional potential... and unlock new values.
Immersive solar development, land use and dual-use experience of the very highest educational caliber working through comprehensive syllabus.
Exceptional speaker lineup of 70+ of today‛s foremost practitioners walking through 101-level instruction suitable for novices and state-of-the-art sessions and applied science.
Dozens of exhibitors will host a dynamic expo floor anchored between breakout sessions, keynotes and food service, physically anchoring program breaks, and co-hosting the final on-site social.
12 scheduled networking events, incl. hot breakfasts & lunches each day, beginning with an official pre-SFS23 drinks & hors d‛oeuvres event the evening of 3/13.
Dig into the details of a ground-mounted solar energy development, related land use issues and explore the dynamic dual-use potential of agrivoltaics
Focused redevelopment track will detail resources, tools, grants and programs to repurpose brownfields and marginal lands for solar, aka brightfield redevelopment.
Fun, fast-paced face-to-face sessions connecting small groups of participants in guided discussions and Q&A led by seasoned agrivoltaics practitioners.
Add your spark and make your mark on the educational experience at North America’s first dedicated agrivoltaics expo by submitting a poster to be displayed on-site during the conference.
Follow up resource compendium bundled digitally and sent following the event‛s conclusion as reference material and
resource guide containing all the SFS23 presentations and bonus materials.
